Take a look at these samples to see the format of our columns before submitting your information and photos below:

Here's how to submit your vehicle for consideration:

Fill in all the required spaces below.  USE AS MUCH SPACE OR WORDS AS YOU NEED.  Your writing does not need to be perfect, since your information will be edited before it appears in the column.  Please provide as much information on your vehicle as possible so that we can give it the best presentation.  Incomplete sentences or one-sentence answers could delay publication or cause your vehicle to be dropped from consideration.  Please follow closely the instructions we provide for most of the boxes below.  Thank you!

    Alternative Submission Method
If you feel you're not tech-savvy and are having trouble with the form below, here's an alternate method for submitting your vehicle:
    1.  Send a suitable photo and copy of the signed photo consent form to David Fluhrer at thegarage@optonline.net.
    2.  In your message, please provide a daytime telephone number and the best time of the day or week for us to call.
    3.  David will contact you to schedule a telephone interview regarding your vehicle.

Please note that submissions on the form below usually result in profiles published earlier than those submitted with the alternative method.  Thank you!

Please insert your name as you would like it to appear in the column. Also please note that only your name -- and no other contact information -- will appear in the published column.
If the vehicle has more than one owner (such as a spouse or friend), please include the name of that person here and also mention your relationship to the other owner(s), i.e., wife, friend, etc.
    Max file size: 20MB
Photos should offer a crisp and clear view of the car or truck and get the entire vehicle in the frame.. Plain backgrounds are best. Visit the online columns to see sample photos that have been published. If you wish to submit more than one photo for consideration, please send additional photos to thegarage@optonline.net.
Please note that, for cars and trucks, the column focuses on antique, classic, collectible or special-interest vehicles. Modern cars may be considered if they are extremely rare or one of a kind.
In the space provided, we'd like to know what makes your ride interesting. Is it a limited production model? Was there something special about the year? Does it have unusual features? How much did it cost new? Is there something about it that makes enthusiasts or collectors want it over other models? If it's a high-performance vehicle, what are its stats (i.e., horsepower, 0-60 time, quarter mile record)? If you have a custom car or street rod, please supply as much information as possible on the modifications, including drivetrain, brakes, wheels, etc.
In the space provided, tell us what month and year you purchased your ride. Did you plan to buy it or was it on a whim? Was it for a special occasion, such as a birthday or retirement?
In the space provided, tell us where (city/state) you found it. Was it advertised in a publication or online? Was it a barn find? Was it handed down in your family? Have you owned it since new? Is there some interesting story about how you obtained it, or how you transported it back to your home?
In the space provided, tell us what condition the vehicle was in when you purchased it and the condition it is in today. Is it in the process of being restored? Was it restored when you bought it, or did you do it yourself? Does it have low original miles? Does it need special or hard-to-find parts? How do you maintain it? Do you have original manuals or other items that came with it? If you have a street rod or other unique vehicle, it is especially important that you provide information on the additions or modifications.
In the space provided, offer advice for others who might be interested in buying/restoring the same vehicle. Do you have advice in general on owning and enjoying this type of vehicle?
In the space provided, tell us your estimate of what the vehicle is currently worth. (You may decline to provide a value and we will insert a value for similar vehicles obtained from auction records or other recognized sources.)
In the space provided, share your personal comments about owning the vehicle. For example, why did you choose this particular make or model? Does it have some sentimental value? Is the vehicle part of your family? Is it part of a family project? Was it handed down from one generation to another? Does it remind you of an earlier time of your life or that of a relative? Does it allow you to enjoy membership in a club? What gets you excited about it? Has it changed your life or the lives of your family members? And don't forget to tell us what it's like to drive!
By clicking "yes," you agree that you have completed signed and submitted the photo consent form indicating that you own the rights to the photo and are permitting Newsday to publish it.
Submit

WAIT!  You aren't done just yet.  After you hit the "Submit" button, please go to the Photo Consent page, where you'll be given instructions on how to submit the Photo Consent form.  If Newsday has taken the photo(s) of your vehicle, then you do not need to submit a Photo Consent form.  You are done.  Thank you!
